A Summary of the 2024 Elections - Where do we go from here?
Educate. Advocate. Mitigate. Activate!
As someone who has studied elections in Washington State for many years it is becoming painfully obvious that the years of catastrophically terrible Democrat policies are taking their toll.
In finishing up my 8th year as Chairman of the Skagit County Republican Party, running for state office, managing campaigns, and Chairing the WAGOP Election Integrity Committee for nearly 4 years, I have been forced to watch the Democrat carnage every day and figure out ways to mitigate the damage with an attempt to improve the system’s overall direction of our county and state. This has been a massive challenge.
There have been some improvements, but the reality is that because of Democrat tyrannical control, hundreds of thousands of Republicans have moved out our state in recent years, simply because the cost of living has become way too expensive, and the woke indoctrination of our youth has literally become so dangerous it is not worth it for many parents to keep their kids in the public school system. Add steady increases in rampant crime, homelessness and drug addiction and you have a recipe for disaster!
Statewide results are still being tabulated but we now know Democrats will keep all their Congressional and Statewide Reps, and most likely pick up a State House (LD 26) and a State Senate Seat (LD 18). The results are disappointing but not at all surprising.
Do I believe that there was widespread cheating in Washington State elections in 2018, 2020 and 2022? Yes. If you do not believe me, please visit the SkagitRepublicans.com website and spend at least an hour on the Election Integrity page, where I have been archiving election integrity issues daily for many years.
Do I believe there was widespread cheating in many states in the 2020, 2022 and 2024 elections? Yes. Actually, it is beyond cheating. It is well documented that material breeches have occurred due to elections maladministration and gross negligence.
Do I believe there was cheating in the Washington State 2024 Primary Election in the Commissioner of Public Lands Race to benefit the Democrat Candidate? Yes. What about the current 2024 General Election in Washington State, did widespread cheating happen? Probably not, but we are still looking at all the data, so that question remains open.
I am convinced that Washington State probably has the worst election system and policies in the country (other than perhaps California). The biggest problem is all-mail voting. By registering everyone possible to vote and then sending all “registered voters” a ballot, whether or not they want one, it allows easy cheating by nefarious actors to simply forge a signature and cast a vote.
Democrat Lawfare, the ongoing Dem Secretary of State lack of transparency, disregard for the state constitution, and recent policy changes such as banning any meaningful election audits, eliminating the 30-day residency requirement and the insanity of the online ballot curing via Democracy Live and OmniBallot (especially in King County), only have increased the myriads of ways that elections can be manipulated.
The sad reality is that since 2020 there has been a mass exodus of Republican voters out of our state and mass influx of Democrat voters into our state. Much of this was due to ridiculous long-term Democrat Covid mandates that destroyed thousands of families and thousands of businesses across our state. This real demographic shift is making it challenging for Republicans to win statewide elections.
One of many long-term solutions to get elections back on track is to go back to in-person voting with ID at our local voting precincts and human counting rather than computers counting our votes. Election Integrity advocates must keep focused on this!
In the short-term, with dedication and hard work it is still very possible for Conservatives and Republicans to prevail, especially at the local levels. We just proved that in Skagit County in 2023 helping flip key Council and School board elections, and in 2024, as our LD 10 State Senator, LD 39 State Senator and two County Commissioner supported candidates all will win their elections by very comfortable margins.
Conservatives and Republicans can still win elections in WA with fixes including cleaning the voter rolls, increased voter registration, increased voter turnout (by at least 10%), Education, Outreach, ONLY supporting good solid candidates that are QUALIFIED for the job and eliminating destructive in-fighting (or at least severely minimizing the practice) that leads to sabotage.
There is very much to be grateful for with Trump winning the Presidency, the Electoral College 312 to 226 and a mandate with the popular vote. This included a net positive Republican percentage vote shift for Trump (including in Washington State) in ALL 50 states between 2020 and 2024!
With Trump’s recent cabinet picks it is most obvious he is taking everything much more seriously than he did when he was first elected in 2016. Hope and optimism for our county and world are once again very real and tangible.
So please keep the faith and do not give up on Washington State. It is an amazing place to live, and it is worth fighting for!

Exceptional article and a wee bit encouraging, though not so much so that I am abandoning my effort to leave the state. Now, if we had meaningful election reform in WA, I could easily be persuaded to remain. Sadly, I don't see that happening unless 100,000 angry men with pitchforks are willing to coalesce on Olympia.
